Written and performed by Heather Raffo, and directed by Joanna Settle, 9 Parts of Desire is acclaimed across the country as an explosive and riveting mix of lyrical language, docudrama, and engrossing performances, journeying through the lives of Iraqi women both under Saddam’s rule and after his expulsion. Eleven years in the making, the show bring in the limelight the realities, conflicts, and the cultural shifts being faced by Iraqi women in today’s world.
