Written and performed by Heather Raffo, and directed by Joanna Settle, 9 Parts of Desire is acclaimed across the country as an explosive and riveting mix of lyrical language, docudrama, and engrossing performances, journeying through the lives of Iraqi women both under Saddam’s rule and after his expulsion. Eleven years in the making, the show bring in the limelight the realities, conflicts, and the cultural shifts being faced by Iraqi women in today’s world.

The show has a running time of 90 minutes and does not have any intermission. The show is recommended for mature audiences and can be seen playing at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. It runs till May 18, 2008 and prices of the tickets vary depending on the day you go to see it. For instance if you catch the show on May 8 at 7:30 PM you will have to shell out US $ 28 for the show, where as the same show will cost you US $35 on May 9 at 8 PM. If you are a member of the Museum of Contemporary Art then you can get special discounted tickets for the show. The seating are wheelchair accessible.

Convenient discounted parking for visitors is available in the Museum’s parking garage. The garage is adjacent to the museum and may be entered from Chicago Avenue. Again, members enjoy special discounted rates for the parking.
